I had to blog this asap b/c it was too cute. Our prelude to Christmas begins with Sinterklaas Day. It is our way of separating the birth of Christ with the secular version of Christmas — so, seeing that Mr. C is Dutch, what a better way to do it. The kids really thought it was neat getting their candy in the wooden shoes and having Mr. C dress up as Sinterklaas. Master P and Miss E didn’t recognize him right away, but after a bit it sunk in who this masked man really was. We talked about being generous and told the story of St. Nick than preluded into the Christmas story. Each child got a few small gifts!
Now that’s done and the pressure is off of this mama for the inner family gifts! 🙂
