family day

February 18, 2008 · 5 Comments

Today is family day here.  A new government holiday.  I am thrilled Mr. C gets to stay home with me for an extra day this week.  We are going to have a nice relaxing day of nothing together and just be a family.  I do however have a few things I struggle with, with this holiday.
I pray for those children who don’t have families.  who are stuck in our horrible foster system. I pray for those who are not safe in their houses.  I pray with a mothers heart for these children.  I pray that God will protect them from the bad things that are happening.  I pray for those children who are waiting for adoption, but don’t seem to get the opportunity to be adopted b/c the government and society has deemed them too hard to handle.  I pray for those families that desire children, yet don’t have an open heart to adoption.  I pray for Gods will to bless and keep our families that struggle to stay as families.  I pray for those who don’t have families; that God will provide them with one.

I pray these things with frustration and tears.

I pray for you family.  That God blesses it and keeps it in his care.

Okay! I loved this cake! the kids thought it was adorable!

the cake pops were a hit! and Miss H was so grown up! Each child that came got to adopt a stuffed animal and received a goodie bag, and a bottle of bubbles to blow at the doggy wedding!

The kids had so much fun doing this! Cuz you know everyone should be married before they have children! ROFL!

busy busy

February 16, 2008 · 1 Comment

we’ve had a busy end of the week here.  Miss H started a pre-Kindergarten day yesterday.  I was okay with most of it.  My mother was suppose to come and babysit, but ended up deciding that it was too cold, so she couldn’t make it.  I had to scramble and find a sitter.  Mr C’s dad watched #2 and #3 while I took #4 with me to the school.  As we walked down the hall to the classroom, Miss H says to me, “Mama, do they know about Jesus here?” my heart just sank.  No.  They didn’t.  Chances are, she would be refused her religious freedoms as a Christian in the school if we decided to stay, while being pushed into learning other religions and needing to be “accepting” of them… thus I feel horrible after the morning has gone and went.  I’m back into thinking about the private school, and though I am interested in homeschooling, i’m scared i’d go crazy having my little turkeys running around all day.. not because I don’t love them, and I think they are great kids.  It’s the whole thing that they are so close in age, and I can barely keep up with my housework lately, and get past the diapers.   So the school dilemma still continues.

So after the school, Miss H turns 5!  We are getting ready for the party today.  I’ve got most of the food ready, working on the last bit here (well, Mr. C is while I take a moment break to write this).  Fluffy and Rex are having a wedding for the party, so you’ll be getting a whole load of pictures tonight of the fun of a 5 year olds birthday party! lol

Her actual birthday was yesterday.  We got some pop, chippies and a movie to watch in the afternoon, which was fun.

Later on Friday night, I went out with 5 other ladies from my care group(or the orginal PMS club as i like to call it).  It was a wonderful time.  We went to a local steak house.  I had a creole chicken (yes, chicken at a steak house… i’m not a real steak fan, but oh well). It was fantastic.. than we went hot tubing til about 1am.. I haven’t been out that late in years… well almost 6 years.. it was wonderful.  It is so important to have some girlfriends and girl time.  I can’t tell you how important it is as you get older in life.  We    I have a great group of girlfriends ranging from 25ish - 42ish.  we are all different and yet our thread of God and Jesus connects us most intimately and is far more important to us than anything else.

Anyhow, gotta go run for the time just went off!

God Bless, and happy Saturday!

Happy Valentine’s day - look out calvin klein!

I couldn’t help myself when I read this verse today. I had to make it into a photo picture to share with you! and what better way to do it than to mess with my own parfumes in my closet, so I put this together!

I pray that you have a “sweet smelling” Valentine’s day and remember the day is not important, but remember who really loves you, and desires you!  God’s call for you is sweet; it’s a craving that once you taste it, you want more and more.  It’s better than the box of chocolate or other pleasing aromas.

Tackle It Tuesday Meme I know everyone else has been working on valentine’s day.  I’m working on Miss H’s fifth birthday.  It is the day after valentines day!Every day this week, I’ve been getting a piece done and for the past 4 weeks I buy a piece of the party (ie, the napkins or the plates, or cake mix, or whatever) so that I don’t have to take a big bite out of our budget the week of the party.  Sort of like what I do at Christmas time.I also have a party planner that I use (it will be available for download at the PMS club for the UBP) so that I don’t forget anything!  I love party planners!Sorry no pictures today.  I’m a little under the weather.

I have an addiction

February 11, 2008 · 8 Comments

I have an addiction to dying my hair blonde… don’t ask me why. It happens every year or so.. I feel this urge to dye it blonde.   I”m not a blonde, nor have I ever been naturally anyhow.  It always turns out bad. But I can’t help myself.  Maybe to spice things up?  Maybe it’s the “inner” blonde that wants to come out? lol.. I don’t know.  But I’m over it now.   My roots never get light enough and by day 2 it’s already grown out lol… yes, laugh if you like.   It’s out of my system.  And here I am.  I’m already a brunette as I post this.
